The EI Centro College Employee Development Fund
(EDF) was established to provide funds to employees for opportunities
for professional growth and development that support the goals
of the College. Funds are raised (and matched by th.e DCCCD
Foundation) so that employees may apply for grants to participate
in activities that will increase job skills, promote professional
development or further their educational efforts. Fund raising
activities include pledge drives, book sales, and other events. |
Eligibility
All full-time and limited-full time employees (after 90 days
of employment)
Activities eligible for funding
- Education efforts - courses at DCCCD colleges and/or
other institutions to fulfill degree, certification, or
licensure requirements
- Individual staff development - job-related conferences,
workshops, seminars, travel, etc.
Consideration of requests
- General merit of the request
- Amount of available fund
- Previous EDF funds received by applicant - Only one approved
application per person per academic year (September 1 through
August 31).
Limitations
- Applications will be processed as received
- Retroactive applications will not be considered
- There is no advance payment - just reimbursement for
actual costs . Maximum amount is $250, subject to the availability
of funds
How to Apply
- Pick up an EDF application form in the Human Resources
office or print the
pdf document. Please allow at least 30 days prior to
the date of the event for the application to be processed.
- Complete and sign the form and attach a copy of your
professional leave form along with other information that
will support your request, Le., registration form, training,
conference, or seminar announcement. If the application
is to pay for a college course or books, a copy of the paid
fee receipt and other expenditures must be attached.
- Obtain the signature of your supervisor or Division Dean.
- Send the form to the EDF Chairperson, Ms. Phyllis Andrews,
who will present your request to the EDF committee for review.
- Based on approval, your form is then sent to the college
administration for appropriate signatures.
- Form is sent back to EDF Chairperson, who will notify
you if the request is approved/disapproved.
- Send proof of completion of training to Mark Ballard,
District Foundation, for reimbursement check to be issued.
For college courses or books, payment will be processed
after completion of the course with a grade of "C"
or better, documented by the original grade report or official
transcript.
