Food Protection Management Certification


Come to El Centro College to become a Certified Food Service Manager. We offer approved certification and re-certification courses that meet the requirements mandated by the cities of Dallas, Garland and Mesquite. These courses are also offered in Spanish.

Food protection management certification

This 15-hour training and certification course is for managers of establishments, which prepare and serve food to the public. This course satisfies FDA and Texas Department of Health guidelines.   • Techniques for sanitary food service preparation
  • Employee sanitation training
  • Housekeeping management
  • Accident prevention
  • Sanitation regulations and standards
  • Pest control
Food protection management re-certification

This is a seven-hour state certified program. Areas of study include:
  • Categories of food contamination
  • Factors that contribute to food-borne illness
  • Prevention of food-borne illness
  • Introduction of HACCP
