INTERNET DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGIES offers a two-year Associate in Applied Sciences Degree, with four specialization career tracks designed to prepare students for jobs in the Internet industry, and a three semester Advanced Web Application Development certificate and a three semester UNIX OS Administration certificate. One-year certificates are also available for credit.

COMPUTER AND DIGITAL VIDEO / AUDIO LABS
The ECC campus provides five dedicated Internet Development Technologies Labs allowing students use of the latest software and hardware available today. Our instructors have real life experience working within the job market, balanced with an passion for teaching.

The labs have both Macintosh G5's running OS X.4 Tiger and PC’s containing many of the latest multimedia and web design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat Professional) as well as 3D Studio Max, Premier, Lightwave, Pro Tools, Dark Basic and C++ for video game development.

Students also have free on-campus T1 access to the Internet ensuring they have the ability to design and test their work in a state of the art environment. Each El Centro student has an option to use our campus student e-mail, as well as Microsoft Office and multimedia software.

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION
The Internet Development Technologies Program is offered through the Information Technology Programs and Systems Support Division. Susan Turner, Executive Dean and Dr. Bette Plog, Information Technology Institute Director are responsible for the content and coordination of the program.
Linda Savage provides academic counseling and Mary Wood is the Instructional Associate.

ACCREDITATION AND PARTNERSHIPS
El Centro is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges, the Association of Texas Colleges and Universities, and the League for Innovation in the Community College.

El Centro and the Information Technology Institute have developed educational partnerships with industry giants like Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, and Oracle to provide advanced training to prepare students to take vendor certification exams. In 2004, the National Science Foundation awarded a 4 year grant for convergence technology training. El Centro is partnering with Collin County Community College and Tarrant County Northeast to develop a regional convergence technology center.

El Centro is an offical Certiport testing center. Ask us about our Microsoft IT Academy, which provides training for acquiring and maintaining certifications in MCSE, MCSA, MCSD, MCDBA, MCAD, Microsoft Certified Application Specialist, and various CompTIA certifications. The Cisco Networking Academy provides training for CCNA, CCNP, Network Security, Wireless, Voice over IP, and Digital Home Technology Integration (DHTI+) certifications. El Centro is also a member of the Oracle Academy, preparing students for DBA certification.
